Please give us a brief background on yourself and tell us about your YouTube channel.

My channel has mostly been about my trips and adventures to various theme parks throughout the years and what I do and experience at each theme park. I don’t narrate in my videos, yet, it’s more of a point of view style that I show what I see. I also have other videos from hiking trips, concerts, and various places I’ve visited. I’m also currently a graduate student, that’s an adventure itself.

When & why did you start making YouTube videos?

I started several years ago when my sister and I would watch vlogs about Disney and I thought I would like to make videos since I already had experience in photography. I wanted to show family members about my day or places I visited.

How did you get started with vlogging?

I basically took my camera out to Disney and filmed while having a magical time. I didn’t have a set purpose for a first video just wanted to see how it would turn out.

What was your first vlog about?

I think it was a day at the Magic Kingdom. The parades, characters, rides, and beautiful fireworks.

How has your vlogging changed since you got started?

I’ve gotten a lot more experience in camera operation and how to film what an audience wants to see. Things you wouldn’t think that would look good in a video that an audience looks for and enjoys.

What advice would you give to a YouTuber just getting started?

To go have fun. There’s always someone out there doing the same thing you are so find your unique niche. You definitely don’t need expensive equipment, a simple phone camera works great, just hold it steady lol. And remember it’s your video there’s no need to compete or make it professional, it’s all about the experience you’re having.

What advice can you give to people who feel they are too shy to start making their own YouTube videos?

Just film point of view and work your way to narrate. You can talk about what you see or if you have a certain theme to convey. Practice at home or semi public places until you feel your ready. If you have a passion for something it will show.

What are your plans/goals for the next 6 months?

I always keep everything open which allows for flexibility and surprise.

Anything else you’d like readers to know?

I enjoy making videos and I always go back and watch what I’ve filmed to relive a moment in my life again. Watching your own videos has a more special meaning because you know you were there experiencing that moment through your eyes.
