Richard RockThe Southern Gospel Hall Of Fame and Museum is returning. A new museum, The Shroud of Turin, will be opening soon. The Museums at Biblical Times is coming and we were given a sneak peek inside what’s coming to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Located at 2391 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee – home of the Biblical Times Dinner Theater, three museums will be opening featuring some old favorites along with new additions to the Smoky Mountains.
Returning is the beloved wax figures featured at the Christ in the Smokies exhibit in Gatlinburg. They have been restored, and placed in all new settings. That is not all. This will no longer be a walking exhibit! You will sit down on a 50 seat slowly rotating disc. A 60 minute presentation will play out with new lighting, and an audio narration in a cyclorama format. Putting you in the center of the life and story of Jesus.
Completely new the Pigeon Forge area is the Shroud of Turin museum. Did you know that only 16 authentic replicas of the burial shroud of Jesus are in existence? One is here in Pigeon Forge, in a sealed, humidity controlled display for all to view. Along the walls, of the museum, you can view all the documentation about the shroud and its authenticity.
Returning to Pigeon Forge, still under construction while we were there, is the Southern Gospel Hall of Fame and Museum. You may recognize this as a part of Dollywood. There is a lot of excitement about the new location and its return to the area for all to see. The other two museums will open first. This will open later. We will update everyone on the progress.
