Bluffs Grill and Tap Restaurant Review

Published

on

As a self-proclaimed foodie, I have a very long list of places to eat in the Smokies. I’m slowly but surely making my way through the said list, one plate at a time!

Bluffs Grill and Tap has been at the top of the list for quite a while. I finally got the opportunity to try it on Sunday morning and let me just tell you, it DID NOT disappoint.

The atmosphere at Bluffs is casual and laid-back.  It’s the go-to place in Sevier County for watching the big game, outdoor dining, and games (featuring billiards, darts, cornhole, GoldenTee). It’s also perfect for a night out on the town with your friends or date night with your significant other.

Popular menu items include wings, hand-pattied black Angus burgers, hand-breaded fried foods, crisp salads, and a variety of appetizers, sandwiches, and entrees. They also have two fully stocked bars with all of your favorites with in house specialty drinks and 36 draft beers.

Now, let’s talk about the food.

I’ve had my eye on their Facebook page for quite some time so I already had a list of things I wanted to try. It was hard to narrow it down but I ultimately chose the Bluffs Sampler which consisted of quesadillas, fried pickles, and mozzarella sticks.

The food didn’t take long to cook. The presentation was top-notch and the flavors were amazing.

Up first was the fried pickles since they are my absolute favorite appetizer. They were perfectly fried and very flavorful. What makes a great fried pickle? When both the pickle and the breading are crunchy. That equals perfection. I’ve eaten many fried pickles in my lifetime and the biggest turnoff is when you bite into a fried pickle and the pickle is slimy. That was NOT the case with Bluffs’ fried pickles! These hand-breaded fried pickles rank very high on the list of the best I’ve ever had. The combination of the pickle and the breading was heavenly! I could have eaten an entire plate of them . . . they were that good! The tangy sauce for dipping added a great touch.

I tried the mozzarella sticks next. I am not usually a huge fan of mozzarella sticks but I’d eat these again. They were deep-fried to a golden brown and topped with cheese. The mozzarella inside the breading was exactly as it should be, not too stringy or too hard. The flavors mixed well together. They were served with a warm marinara sauce for dipping.

And finally, the Southwest quesadilla…I’m sort of kicking myself for waiting until last to try them. I will go out on a limb and say that it is the best quesadilla I’ve ever had (and I’ve eaten A LOT of them). The tortilla was buttery and flaky, the pico de gallo, cheddar jack cheese and chipotle marinated chicken make for a party in your mouth. I was surprised at how good they were. I could have made a meal on just the quesadillas. Do yourself a favor and try them, you won’t be disappointed!

Suzan was a great waitress, very friendly and attentive. Major props to the cook as well. He knocked the food out of the park!

Bluffs Grill and Tap is located at 1548 Parkway, Ste 301, Sevierville, Tennessee 37862. Can’t make it to the restaurant? Delivery options are now available, so give them a call at (865) 908-1333 to see how they can help you.
