Black bear, white-tailed deer, and turkey are just a few of the animals that call the Great Smoky Mountains home. There are over 1,500 types of native plants. There are over 2,000 miles of streams in the Smokies, dotted with sparkling waterfalls and cascades. Clingman’s Dome is a popular destination for stunning mountain views.

Do you love go-carts, indoor sky-diving, ziplines, mountain coasters, laser tag, bumper cars or boats, mini-golf, escape rooms, mazes, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, roller coasters? There are over 70 attractions for you to choose from. This makes the Great Smoky Mountains the perfect destination for the adventurous thrill-seeker.

Historian

Immerse yourself in a history lesson at the Titanic Museum or the Alcatraz East Museum. Take a tour of Cades Cove to truly understand the old-fashion ways of the early settlers in the area. Watch shows along the parkway to learn more about the music that spanned the generations. There is so much history just waiting for you in the Smokies.

Shopper

Antiques, crafts, outlets…oh my! You can find just about anything that you are looking for if you plan on shopping in the Great Smoky Mountains. From vintage treasures to handmade crafts to clothing, shoes, accessories, you can find it all in one of the many shops located throughout the area.

Foodie

If American, Italian, Mexican, German, Brazilian, Chinese, Japanese cuisines are your thing, there is a variety of restaurants for you to choose from. Want seafood or southern comfort food? Maybe you want fast food. There is no shortage of great restaurants to choose from. And you can’t forget all of the sweet shops to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Entertainment Buff

Do you love comedy, acrobatics, dancing, singing, variety, tribute, magic shows? You can find almost any type of entertainment show in the Smokies. There are so many shows, you might need to plan a second, third or fourth trip in order to catch them all.
